The FN Five-seveN MRD is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in 5.7x28mm FN and built around FN’s proprietary optics-mounting system. The MRD slide accepts a range of common optic footprints through interchangeable mounting plates, allowing a compatible red dot sight to be installed with the included hardware. Its ergonomic polymer frame features textured stippling for a secure grip, while enhanced slide, trigger-guard, and safety-selector serrations support confident manipulation. An internal hammer, smooth trigger pull, and 4.8-inch cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel contribute to consistent accuracy and the cartridge’s notably soft recoil. The pistol includes a 20-round magazine and provides a 20+1 capacity when loaded with a round in the chamber.
